Fundraising During 2011
We are sincerely grateful to everyone who fundraised for us during the year. Among the fundraisers were:
- A number of people ran marathons in aid of Aspire including the Women’s Mini Marathon and the Edinburgh Marathon and raised over €1,100
- The Probation Service and a number of schools organised fundraisers in aid of Aspire and raised over €1,500
- We were also successful in acquiring funding from the National Lottery and other groups
The money raised is much appreciated and will assist us in our ongoing efforts to further improve services for those with Asperger Syndrome and their families.
Every day, your friends, family and community members give donations and volunteer for organizations like ours. Let’s make aspire the charity of choice in every community.

Ideas
Healthy
Competition
Why not
have a
charity
games
league at
work or at
your local
pub or
youth club?
If you have
a pool
table or
table
football
nearby you
can draw up
a league
table that
pits people
against one
another.
You could
even extend
this to
board
games,
perhaps
have a
board game
or card
game
championship.
The overall
winner
could get a
trophy or
prize.
Summer
BBQ or
Winter
Celebrations
Whatever
the season
- get your
friends
together and
have a
special
dinner
party
with every
guest
making a
donation to
Aspire.
Foreign
Beer
Tasting
Host a
special
beer-tasting
session
after work
or in
college

Crazy Hair
day
Feel like a
change -
why not
shave your
head or
grow a
beard? Get
your family
and friends
to sponsor
you.
More ideas
- sell food you’ve cooked, or clothes you’ve made
- do a sponsored walk, run, hop or skip
- have a sponsored silence
- have a themed day at the school or office
- Inform family, friends and co-workers about Aspire, its mission and accomplishments
- Represent Aspire at a coffee morning or conference
- Ask for donations in lieu of gifts at your next birthday party, wedding, graduation or other important occasion.
Safety
Please
remember
when you
are
fundraising
to bear in
mind a
number of
important
safety
points:
- Always wear safety equipment if required
- Make sure you have enough people to control any crowd that may build up
- Be careful if you are carrying money around
- Ensure children are supervised at all times
